Description
A lively harbour scene exuding a sense of passion and place. The transition from right to left between (almost) colourless to an energetic and vibrant palette, when viewed in parallel with the transition between the older (sail) boats on the right compared to the more modern (power / motor) boats on the left could be interpreted as a reflection or commentary on the passage of time and how the harbour or town in general grew and developed from smaller roots to something capable of sustaining a larger, more demanding commitment. Either way, this elegant and enigmatic piece is a timeless classic.
